FASHION INSPIRATION

“Always keep your eyes open. Keep watching. Because whatever you can see can inspire you.” Grace Coddington

Fashion exists everywhere, and we don’t always have to look far to find inspiration. Of course, there are the obvious places to look for inspiration: street style, fashion blogs, magazines, films, other cultures, and television. However, if you look a little harder, you can find fashion inspiration in other places: books, nature, music, art, and history. I look for inspiration in a variety of places; when you expand your horizons you can find inspiration in almost anything.

I think street style is a great place to find fashion inspiration. Most of the time, street style incorporates elements of high fashion into daily wear, and I have a bunch of different folders and documents that consist of street style that I like. There are so many street style blogs out there, some of my favorites are: stylebythemodels, noiretblancmaisrouge, vogue-always, viederue, walkonvogue, streetstyl-ish, and what-id-wear.

Alexa Chung, Kate Moss, Abbey Lee Kershaw, Larissa Hofmann, Fei Fei Sun, Liu Wen, Cara Delevingne, Brigitte Bardot, Stevie Nicks, Florence Welch, Ali MacGraw, and Miranda Kerr all have such fab style, in my opinion.

In addition to looking to people for inspiration, different cities have an incredible sense of style. My personal favorites are Berlin and London. The fashion found in Paris, Milan, New York, Sweden, Tokyo, Copenhagen, and Seoul is also wonderful.

Photoshoots from magazines are another source of inspiration. Vogue, Porter, Nylon, Elle, Harper’s Bazaar, W...the list goes on. Now, I’m not saying you have to match your outfit exactly to the ones found in the magazine, but you can incorporate certain elements into your own looks.

Films and television shows are two obvious places to look for style inspiration. Most of the time it is very easy to replicate an outfit that you have seen on television, since the pieces can be easy to find. I have found inspiration from movies such as, The Big Lebowski (I know, I know, but it’s my favorite movie and I absolutely love the Dude’s outfits.), Love Story, Pretty in Pink, Roman Holiday, Breakfast at Tiffany’s, and Annie Hall.

Fashion inspiration can be found in a variety of places, all you have to do is look.

LAST REQUEST

Skirt- Thrifted
Denim Shirt- Target
Boots- Boohoo

Sorry I haven't posted in awhile! I've been extremely busy with school (some of my finals have already started)! I've had this post archived for quite some time now and I've just gotten around to posting it. I've been loving denim shirts recently so I bought this one awhile back and I love it! I love the denim-on-denim, Canadian tuxedo look and I plan on wearing this shirt with a pair of dark wash jeans. Life will be hectic for me in the near future, so please forgive me if my posts are that consistent!

CRISP

Shirt- Similar , Jeans- Forever21, Boots- Boohoo

This was a spur-of-the-moment outfit. I actually really like how it turned out, though. It's a very classic, easy outfit to put together. My mom has a subscription to Birchbox and she was sent this awhile ago. She doesn't wear lipsticks, so she gave this one to me. I'll admit, I don't normally wear lip products. I got off of Accutane a little over 3(?) months ago and my lips still get very dry, very easily. This is an amazing lip product though! It smells heavenly and stays on for quite awhile; if you're looking for a good red lipstick I recommend this one!

The weather has been having a moment so far this week. It's November 3rd and it was 70 degrees out today! I'm not a fan- I would rather it be a little more on the chilly side. On another note, I watched Star Wars for the first time over the weekend (I don't know why it's taken me this long-honestly) and I LOVED it!! I'm going to have to watch the others before the new one comes out in December. I also watched five movies over the weekend with my mom and I would recommend most of them. Insidious: Chapter 3 (not very good in my opinion), The Final Girls (loved it! Mostly because I'm a huge fan of most of the actors in it haha), The Gift (huuuge Jason Bateman fan over here! This one was pretty good), Ashby (I love, love, love Emma Roberts, and the movie), and Manson Family Vacation (this one won't be everyone's cup of tea- but I found it funny and really enjoyed it).

Hello lovelies!

I'm getting my senior pictures done tomorrow and, like I promised, these are the outfits I'll be wearing (I think)! I didn't link some of the clothes because they're pretty basic pieces that you can find anywhere. I also took the ACTs today (for the third time..) and I know i did terribly :[ Even though it was my third time taking it, I had an anxiety attack and ended up psyching myself out for basically the whole thing. Last time i took it I got a 24 and I wanted to get a 28 or higher. Hopefully I'll be able to take it again (i want to score higher!).

On the plus side, i'm going to a haunted house tonight with my family so that should be fun! I LOVE going to haunted houses, so i'm really excited. Hope you are all having a great weekend.

SKY HIGH

Cardigan - Forever21 (similar)
Socks - Forever21
Boots - Boohoo
Shorts and Tee - thrifted

Hello lovlies!
I've been wanting to get me a pair of thigh high socks and when I found these at Forever21 I couldn't pass them up! I also found this cardigan while thrift shopping this past weekend and for only $6(!!) how could i say no? It's so soft, comfy and warm! The weather wouldn't make up its mind on if it wanted to be hot or cold, so I thought this would be a perfect outfit to wear. I also want to direct your attention to these amazing boots from Boohoo. They're so wonderful and trendy and I just love them. If you're looking to pick up some good boots that won't cost you a fortune, I would highly recommend Boohoo's boots! Also, if you were wondering, i'm starting to kind of like my hair. It's still dark for my liking, but its getting there. This weekend I'm getting my senior pictures taken, so sometime this week I hope to have a lookbook type of thing up about the outfits I plan on wearing (i have a feeling this outfit will be among them). I hope you are all having a great day/ week!

BOOHOO

Top - Aeropostal (similar)
Basic leggings
Boots - Boohoo

Hello lovelies!
I ordered these amazing boots from Boohoo last week and they came in yesterday! They are so comfy and on trend so i'm very excited to have them. My outfit today was pretty casual, but really comfy. Also, you may notice that I dyed my hair. In all honesty, I hate it. I showed my hairdresser a picture of Clemence Posey's hair when it was a darkish blonde and told her that was how I wanted it. Obviously it did not turn out a darkish blonde. It is way too dark for my liking. On that note, I'm never getting my hair done there again ahaha. So, in the meantime, I'm trying to embrace it and pretend that i was on ANTM and Tyra Banks gave me this makeover so I will try my best to make it work. I miss my blonde hair a lot, so I'll probably dye it back towards the end of November or beginning of January.

Hope you are all having a great week! x

RIGHT AS RAIN

Hello lovelies! It's been forever since i've posted seeing as I've been busy with school- senior year is having me stressed already! But I want to get back into the groove of blogging, so i'll be posting more (hopefully)!

My weather app said it was supposed to be in the 70s today, but it was pretty cold this morning. I decided to throw on my leather jacket that I got from Target (for only $10- what a steal?!) I can't wait until it starts getting cooler, I mean it's October -where's the cold?!? I'm already looking forward to styling sweaters and whatnot. Halloween season is my favorite after all!

Enjoy two selfies I snapped this morning before school. I'm getting my hair dyed on Saturday (FINALLY!) because my roots are terrible, as you can see in the pictures. I'm thinking about going slightly darker, although how much darker I'm not sure. Also, I'm getting my senior pictures done in a couple of weeks so I'm looking forward to that, even though I have no idea how to pose in front of a camera, as you can also tell from the pictures haha. I've been watching America's Next Top Model for just about ever, but even Tyra can't help me /:

THE KIMONO

Black Tshirt- thrifted / Kimono- Forever21 / Shorts- thrifted / Boots- Target (similar) / Perfume- Ulta

Today I had a college visit so I wanted to wear an outfit that showed my style and that I could easily walk around a campus in.  I originally planned on wearing the black shirt and shorts with my Harry Potter time turner necklace I got from this etsy shop but at last minute I changed my mind. I paired my first choice of outfit (minus the necklace) with this amazing kimono that I thrifted from Playto's Closet, originally from Forever21, awhile back (it was only $6 can you believe it?!). I forgot I had it until I was rummaging through my closet trying to see if I had a cardigan/sweater because it was actually kind of chilly today. My favorite perfume was a must today. If you haven't had the chance to get a whiff of this perfume, I highly recommend you do so- it smells fantastic.
